Don't Be Tricked While They're Treating!

October 31, 2017

Picture this: Lit with just a porch light and elaborately carved jack-o-lanterns, a friendly trick-or-treater tromps up your front porch stairs, his cape flowing in the breeze behind him.   Batman whips around - stoked because you let him choose his own pice of candy out of your very large, only used on Halloween, bowl - and in almost slow-mo you get a glimpse of your carved pumpkin toppling over, lid falling off, candle rolling out onto your "Boo" doormat.

Yep, that adorable custom "Boo" doormat is up in flames. As insurance people, we'd like to think the first thought you had was, "Am I covered?!" But ok we get it,  it probably wasn't.

But let's think about it now before your totally boo-tiful doormat actually does catch on fire.

Let's move on from fires and talk about some other spooky events that could happen.

Do yourself a favor and make sure there is a clear pathway to your porch.  In all the excitement of getting free candy, kids probably aren't too concerned with what might be in their way.

If I were you, I'd make sure that porch light is on. If it isn't, you might want to prepare yourself for the vandalism that could come your way for depriving the neighborhood children of free candy.

And last but not least, your chihuahua that thinks he's a guard dog might be best left inside. We'd hate for him to escape and attack that adorable trick or treater, leaving you liable.

If you aren't sure if your covered from all of these Halloween tricks.  Call us!  We'll get you in touch with one of our qualified member agents.

Happy Halloween!
